Laser classification standard
DIN-EN 60825-1 - what does it
mean?
Since 1 January 2004, the European
standard DIN EN 60825-1 classifies laser
devices due to their dangerousness.
That is, depending on the GZS (total
permissible radiation) values, that the
lasers are rated in laser classes. The GZS
value is defined in the European standard
DIN EN 60825-1 and specifies the limit
values of the accessible radiation.
LPS also develops and produces laser
modules for industry and labs. However,
due to possible audience scanning in the
event and show industry, we only inform
and focus on lasers used for laser shows at
this point. We therefore also ignore medical
lasers.
We distinguish between 1, 1M, 2, 2M, 3R,
3B und 4.
